Colin Bayley
Colin is business manager of Andrew Mawson Partnerships and works closely with Andrew on projects including the St Paul’s Way Transformational Project. He is a member of the Water City Group and a Director of One Church 100 Uses.
Colin has 30 years experience working for major international companies and leading professional services firms. He was marketing director at Arthur Andersen and business development director at interanational lawyers Stephenson Harwood. He was also managing director of a number of communications and marketing companies.
Previously, Colin was director and managing director of three leading London public relations consultancies, including Shandwick, with financial companies, professional firms and blue chip companies as clients. He also had public sector clients such as The Crown Estate and NHS Trusts. Colin was also head of public relations at Booker plc, where he was responsible for the Booker Prize for Fiction, which he had televised.
Colin has helped social enterprises to develop their business, communications and marketing skills, including the setting up of social enterprises in a secondary school in Islington and working with Education Leeds to launch its highly successful programme of social enterprise in schools. He has mentored the chief executive of Changemakers, an organisation that promotes youth-led community action. Colin has also worked with the London Borough of Harrow to develop a service planning and performance management system for the Urban Living team.
Colin is a long serving Chair of Governors of primary school in Hertfordshire, where he coaches the new head teacher. He holds a BA in economics from Nottingham University. After five years Colin feels he has served his apprenticeship and is now a fully-fledged social entrepreneur.
